Did you know that when you’re stood on the platforms at Sheffield Train Station there is a river running right below you?
In a new video, The Sheffield Guide to the Megatron and Hidden Rivers, we go into the culverts of the Porter Brook and river Sheaf and head underneath the train station!
From there we follow those culverts under Ponds Forge and beyond to the infamous Megatron storm drain.
It was all made possible by the amazing people at the Sheaf and Porter Rivers Trust, who were excellent guides, giving us a remarkable amount of information and history - and a glimpse into future plans for bringing the Sheaf and Porter back into Sheffield.
Oh, and there is a scary moment where I genuinely thought I was going to die.
